Christmas in July at Fussy and Fancy

It's Christmas in July at Fussy and Fancy! This was definately a change for me to do a Christmas card in July! I usually don't start thinking about them until November and then I am usually late sending them out! At least one family member will have thiers early, LOL!!

I have to tell you I'm a little upset with the way this turned out. I didn't allow enough drying time with my ink and when I applied the dimensional Viva on my tree it turned green! I added a little stickles to it and now it looks like ice. I will give it a day or so of some good drying time and go back and see if I can get white snow on it. Any suggestions?

I haven't made a Joy fold card in a long time. It's always natural to want to do a regular fold but I have to say this was fun. I have to start giving special folds more love!

Join us at Fussy and Fancy! Pop on over and take a look what the DT has to inspire you! Looking forward to hearing from you there!

Sweet Birthday

Here's just a little more fun I have been having with my stash of stamps. I have been coloring alot of my LOTV stamps up and can't wait to show them all to you. They are so precious! This is Birthday Fairy she is on Best Creation paper, Let's Party. They have a 12 x12 sheet that are all kinds of tags and labels. This was so easy to cut out and put together in a snap! I also made some fun tags with the remaining cut outs. Post coming soon...

My sweet little girl turns 9 next month and this so reminds me of her except it was princess outfits she was constantly in. They are growing up too fast for my liking and need to slooooowww down!

My ribbon was part of a gift to me for Mother's day. My sister didn't realize how much I loved the gift and what it was wrapped in!

Hope you are all having a good Wednesday! I'm off to work...

Summer Love

Okay how many of you saw the title to this post and started singing "Summer Lovin..happened so fast...met a girl crazy for me" from the movie Grease. LOL!! My sister and I are always laughing because there is a song out there for practically any phrase. One of us will say something and the other will break out in song!

Alright back to my post...I sat down recently and noticed that I have collected all these must have stamps and haven't even played with them. So here I am sharing the love...

This is A Kiss for Chloe by Stampavie. She was released earlier this year and I had to have her. Do you remember your first kiss? This is such a sweet image. I was experimenting with this card. I wanted a demin feel to this so that is what I did. I actually diecut a piece of denim for the matting behind, A Kiss for Chloe. The paper is by Echo Park and I also added a denim center to the flower.

I still have the Grease tune in my head! I guess I will be singing that all day!

Clean and Simple Tulips

Hello Sunday, and hello everyone. I have a clean and simple post for you today. Crafter's Companion recently introduced Pansies, Sunflowers and Tulips to thier Paint Fusion collection by Sheena Douglass. These stamps are beautifully detailed and instead of using acrylic paints I went my favorite coloring medium, Distress Inks!

With a liitle planning and masking I laid out my tulips on a 4.5 square piece of watercolor paper. The tulups are colored in Spun sugar and Fired Brick and the leaves are Peeeled paint and Forest Moss. I sketched the stems into place. Even though I made this a card I'm on the hunt for a frame. I think my office at work can use some flowers.

Hope you enjoy my tulips as much as I am. Have a wonderful Sunday!

Summer Summer Summertime!

Hello and happy Friday! I'm so glad it here for lots a reasons. One, it was a crazy week at work and two Harry Potter is finally here!! Yes, I am a big fan of the books and movies and can't wait to see the last part. It is bittersweet though much like reading the last book.

ANYWAY back to the heat! You would think that after 20+ years in Florida that I would be used to this. I think this is the hottest summer ever! Which brings me to our new challenge at Fussy and Fancy. Summertime!!

Isn't Bart just too cute! He's from Whimsy stamps and was barely out of the package before I had my ink and paper ready. I tried something new to me in his coloring, not sure what you would call it. Back in my art school days it was considered pointilism. In the the crafty world I called dot coloring. Either way I love the end result.

Stop by Fussy and Fancy and see our new look and more inspiration!

Hope you're having a great summer!
